Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when the time is right?

This is often the most difficult decision to make. Many families look for signs such as ongoing pain, loss of enjoyment in daily life, or a significant decline in mobility or comfort.

If you are unsure, we are here to talk things through and help guide you with honesty and compassion.

What happens during the visit?

We come to your home so your pet can remain in a familiar and comfortable environment.

A gentle first injection helps your pet relax and fall into a deep sleep. Once they are fully settled, a second injection is given, allowing them to pass peacefully and without pain.

You will have time to be with your pet at every stage.

Will my pet feel any pain?

No. The process is designed to be calm and pain-free. The initial sedation ensures your pet is relaxed and unaware before the final injection is given.

How long does the process take?

Each visit is unhurried and typically lasts between 45–90 minutes. We allow plenty of time so you never feel rushed.

Can I stay with my pet?

Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to stay with your pet throughout the process, or step away at any time if you prefer. We will support whatever feels right for you.

What happens after my pet has passed?

You will be given time and space to say goodbye.

If you would like, we can arrange aftercare, including cremation, or you may choose to make your own arrangements.

What aftercare options are available?

We offer:

  • Communal cremation (no ashes returned)
  • Individual cremation (ashes returned)

A selection of urns and keepsakes is also available.

Can I bury my pet at home?

Yes, in many cases this is possible in the UK, provided it is done safely and on land you own.

If this is your preference, we will leave your pet in your care and can offer guidance if needed.

How quickly can you come?

We aim to offer appointments as soon as possible, often within 24–48 hours, depending on availability.

Please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

How much does it cost?

The cost depends on your location and the services required. We will always explain fees clearly when you contact us—there are no hidden charges.

Do you offer emergency services?

We are not an emergency service. If your pet requires urgent care, we recommend contacting your nearest emergency veterinary practice.

How do I book an appointment?

You can complete our contact form or call us directly. We will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a suitable time.

Why choose at-home euthanasia instead of a vet clinic?

At-home euthanasia allows your pet to remain in a familiar, comfortable environment, surrounded by the people they love.

It avoids the stress of travel and unfamiliar surroundings, and provides a calm, unhurried experience with time and privacy to say goodbye.
