The Visit

We will contact you before setting off to provide an estimated arrival time.

When we arrive, your pet can remain in a place where they feel most comfortable, whether that is their bed, the sofa, or a favourite spot in the garden.

We will take a few moments to gently meet your pet before administering an initial injection under the skin. This is similar to a routine vaccination and is generally well tolerated, most pets show little or no reaction.

This injection contains a combination of pain relief, sedation, and anti-anxiety medication. It allows your pet to become calm and relaxed before drifting into a deep sleep. Some pets may even appear to snore. This process typically takes around 5–10 minutes.

During this time, we can complete the consent form with you and discuss aftercare options, such as cremation, if you would like us to make these arrangements on your behalf.

Once your pet is in a deep sleep, we will gently clip a small area of fur, usually on a front leg, to access a vein (most commonly the cephalic vein). In some cases, an alternative vein may be used.

A catheter will then be placed and secured, preparing for the final injection.

At this stage, you will be given the opportunity to spend some private time with your pet. We will step out of the room and return when you feel ready.

When you are ready, the final injection will be administered. This allows your pet to pass peacefully, without pain or distress.

Afterwards, we will again give you and your family time and space to say your final goodbyes.

If aftercare has been arranged, we will return with the necessary equipment to gently and respectfully transfer your pet
